Plan Meals to Save

There are many reasons why you should plan your meals out for the week. Saving money, saving calories and saving time are the tops.

Scheduling your meals saves you a lot of time. There is no waiting until the end of the day and everyone asking “what’s for dinner?” If you start planning dinner after work, then it could take another 2 hours of shopping or eating out before you actually get to eat. By then how cranky are you and the kids?

By waiting until the last minute you spend more money on going out to dinner or stopping at the grocery store. We all know how grocery shopping ends up if you are hungry. You spend tons of money on foods you really didn’t need and definitely on foods you shouldn’t have purchased. If you plan your meals out for the week you can also shop the specials and use coupons to help save money.

Healthy choices are much easier to make when you pre-plan. I know when I’m starving and tired my cravings tend to lean towards cheeseburgers and french fries. When I pre-plan we eat stir fry, chicken pad thai, grilled chicken salads, or grilled fish tacos. Hmm, what’s the calorie and fat content differences there?

If you are not good about keeping up with making your meal plans, there are quite a few choices out there.
