We had a request from some university students that we’d love to pass along to our readers. You can read all about it below, if you have any questions please contact Colleen or Christy, their emails are also below. :)

Mother/Daughter On-line Survey: Complete and Enter Drawing for a $50 Visa Gift Card

Hello, our names are Colleen Colaner and Christy Rittenour. Colleen is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication Studies at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Christy is an assistant professor at West Virginia University. We are conducting research on how mothers and daughters talk about their beliefs and values. We are seeking to collect responses from both daughters and mothers in our study.

In order to participate in this study, you must have a living daughter who is at least 19 years old.

If you are interested in this project and qualify for the study, you will be asked to fill out an online survey that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. We will ask your daughter to fill out a survey as well. If you choose to participate, you will be required to provide informed consent, and all of your information will be kept confidential.

We will enter mother and daughter pairs into a raffle in which both the mother and daughter will have a chance to win a $50 dollar Visa gift card. To qualify for the raffle, both the mother and the daughter must submit their survey. We will distribute 6 sets of gift cards to mother-daughter pairs in the spring. We hope to get 150 pairs, so your chances of receiving a gift card is about 4%.

If you have any questions, please email us at cwcolaner@huskers.unl.edu or Christine.Rittenour@mail.wvu.edu. If you are willing to participate, please go to the following link:

After completing the survey, there will be a link that you can send to your daughter that will direct her to her own survey. Your daughter will not see your results, and you will not you see hers.
