How was Mother’s Day?

   Mine was different. I ended up running around all morning. But it was worth it so I didn’t have to move from the couch for the rest of the day We had a huge movie marathon ending with the kids giving me Shaun of the Dead! woohoo You’d have to be another zombie movie freak to appreciate that I guess. lol But it was perfect.

   Kids cleaned, daughter helped cook, no one was fighting or even bickering and I got to watch movies and play online all afternoon/evening. Great day!

   Mine was nice, and relaxing. Got 2 handmade gifts and cards(the best!), plus a vibrating/heated neck and shoulder massager-thingy. My SIL had the family over for brunch. Didn’t have to cook, but did help clean up. It was a great family day, and every time the youngest gave me a hug he said “Happy Mother’s Day!” That was enough for me.

   I should add that this is the first mother’s day in a long time that I can remember the kids telling me happy mother’s day without having to be reminded. lol

   I spent the morning doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom, vaccumed and did dishes. No one thought to even say happy motherday till they came in to watch tv and a mother day advertisment remimded them to go get something on the run… ended up with some flowers in pots from lowes, no card and I ended up paying for a brunch at a resturant…so happy mother day to me

   I feel like mother’s day isn’t as special as it should it seems our husbands forget how incredible we are, and let’s face it where would they be without us….I wish that mothers’s day made me feel special and apreciated

   Hi Claudia,

   I know my husband once told me that I wasn’t his mother. It hurt for a minute, but then it dawned on me he’s correct. He’s helped the kids in the past of course and some years I’ve gotten a major present. But I don’t even want presents on Mother’s day. I think that’s why I liked this one so much. Kids cleaning the house and doing dishes while I sit on the couch was a great present. Each year’s different for me I swear, this was just thankfully a good one I’ve definitely had others that weren’t.
