Saw a commercial this morning for one of those multi-hour energy drinks that was claiming to be the answer to that mid-afternoon fatigue so many of us experience. What is your 3:00 feeling like, and what do you do to combat that? Do you down one of those energy drinks, go for another cup of coffee, exercise, take a nap?








I try to take a walk first and get some fresh air. If that doesn’t cut it I usually end up taking a nap for an hour and coming back to whatever I was doing with fresh perspective.
I’m with you Loretta, I like to get up and move when I’m feeling like that. With school, it helps that it’s usually right around the time I have to go get the kids, so getting some fresh air walking to & from school helps shake the cobwebs, and clears my mind a little too.
I confess though, if it creeps back once we’re home, it’s usually caffeine (coffee or a diet soda) that I turn to next.
I go out on the porch, and then return to a different activity (if I was posting, I’ll sew, if I was doing laundry, maybe switch to dishers…change it up). Then it’s a vitamin b-50, and/or a cup of green tea. I only have to resort to coffee a few times a month, now.
Definite trend of how well the outdoors works for everyone. I was great and trained myself to go jogging when that would happen, but I broke that habit. Need to get that back.
A lot of times I will find that maybe I didn’t have enough at lunch, so I’m low on fuel. Or I haven’t had as much water during the day that I thought. So definitely grabbing more water helps me. Some days I will go for a diet pepsi, but rarely any more. For health reasons I’ve had to really cut the caffeine
