We’re headed to my SIL’s for the annual BBQ and fireworks. Keeping fingers crossed that the weather holds, last year was so cold! You’re not supposed to have to cover up with a blanket to watch fireworks on the 4th of July!
We usually go to my grandmom’s house up the mountains for a carnival/fireworks. We can’t do that this year so we will be going to a BBQ at my cousin’s new house instead.

Lauren if we don’t need blankets on the 4th then it’s a miracle. If it doesn’t rain on the 4th we consider it a miracle. lol
Hubby has to work and they get excited for that. Crazy calls, running all day and the hope of a fire or two.
I haven’t decided yet what we’re doing. Figured some of the wives may get together for a BBQ, but I haven’t asked around much. Kids and I are invited to daughters friends house on the lake for a big party and I’ve wanted to get to know them better. We won’t be out late though, so I’m tempted to stay home. The dogs don’t do well with all the fireworks and there are a ton around here. Our oldest gets worse each year and I worry about her freaking out at home alone. Yes, I even momma the dogs lol
Sandy- Fireworks in the mountains sounds awesome! We walk down the block from my SIL’s and watch local fireworks show from a golf course. Works out good – lots of room to spread out.
Val- Here July 4th should be upper 80′s, normally, so when we have to where winter coats and huddle in our lawn chairs it’s just not normal. Now, rain on the other hand – that’s almost a 50/50 chance every year – hoping that stupid hurricane hitting Texas doesn’t swing up this way as they’re saying it might.
I’ll hope it doesn’t as well! We’re looking to have it be nice here. But it’s still too far out to hold my breath. lol Of course, it’s going to start hitting 70′s on the 5th. We all know that’s when summer actually starts around here.
